APPLICATION DEADLINES

Though some late applications may be considered, application deadlines are as follows:

November 1, 2016: For Winter 2017 Semester (Our Application System is now open)

March 1, 2017: For the Fall 2017 Semester (Our Application System will be open mid-January.)

If you wish to inquire about the possibility of submitting a late application please send an e-mail to Betty Ableson (bettya@slc.qc.ca) outlining your situation and why you are not thinking of applying to Champlain - St. Lawrence for the Winter Semester 2017.

Late applications and program transfers are considered only as space permits. It is very important to respect the deadlines of March 1st and November 1st. LATE applications will only be considered after all applications received on time have been processed and then only if there are spaces still available

 

ENGLISH TEST: If you did not study in an English high school, you must write an English test that will help us evaluate your ability to pursue college studies in English. The cost of this test is $30.00 (non-refundable).  Under certain conditions you may be exempted from writing the English Test.  For more information click on English Test, etc. You can print out a form to complete and mail to us, along with your $30 English Test Fee.

 

DEC TRANSITION: If you would like to make a more gradual transition to college studies, we can provide you with a reduced course load over more semesters, direct you to complementary courses that will help you explore your options and arrange for you to attend helpful workshops. If you are accepted and are interested in this type of transition, please contact Kiki Papaconstantinou, our Academic Advisor (kikip@slc.qc.ca).

IF YOU WERE BORN IN QUÉBEC AND ARE CURRENTLY ATTENDING A HIGH SCHOOL IN THE PROVINCE OF QUÉBEC

Once you have applied online you will see what documents you will need to provide us with to complete your application. They will probably include:

  1. A copy of your latest high school Secondary V results. This will help us assess that you are presently registered in the courses which are cegep program pre-requisites.
  2. A copy of your latest provincial results (Achievement Record/Relevé des apprentissages) from the MELS
  3. A non-refundable $30.00 Application Fee. Please make your cheque or money-order payable to Champlain Regional College.
  4. A copy of your birth certificate with parents' names.

NOTE: If you were born in another province, please include a copy of one of your parents’ valid Québec Health Insurance card as well as a copy of your birth certificate with parents' names.

NOTE: IF YOU WERE BORN IN A COUNTRY OTHER THAN CANADA AND ARE NOW A CANADIAN CITIZEN OR LANDED IMMIGRANT you must submit a copy of your Canadian Citizenship Certificate and/or Certificat de selection du Québec (C.S.Q.) or IMM 5688 or other (Government of Canada).  As well, please include a copy of one of your parents’ valid Québec Health Insurance card as well as a copy of your birth certificate with parents' names.  As well, please include a copy of one of your parents' valid Québec Health Insurance card as well as a copy of your birth certificate with parents' names.


IF YOU ARE TRANSFERING FROM ANOTHER CÉGEP

Once you have applied online you will see what documents you will need to provide us with to complete your application. They will probably include:

  1. A copy of your of your final Secondary V results.
  2. A copy of your cégep transcript (Bulletin d’études collégiales). You must also include a list of the cégep courses in which you are presently registered (if applicable).
  3. A non-refundable $30.00 Application Fee. Please make your cheque or money-order payable to Champlain Regional College.
  4. A copy of your birth certificate with parents' names.

NOTE: If you were born in another province, please include a copy of one of your parents’ valid Québec Health Insurance card as well as a copy of your birth certificate with parents' names.

IF YOU ARE A CANADIAN CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT AND STUDIED IN A PROVINCE OUTSIDE OF QUÉBEC:

Students attending secondary schools in a province other than Québec can apply to St. Lawrence if they are in good academic standing and have the program pre-requisites required. They must have completed or be in the process of completing the following:

  1. Alberta Grade XI (67-100 credits)
  2. British Columbia Grade XI
  3. Manitoba Grade XI (minimum 13 credits)
  4. New Brunswick Grade XI (minimum 12 credits)
  5. Newfoundland Grade XI (minimum 24 credits)
  6. Nova Scotia Grade XI (minimum 12 credits)
  7. Ontario Secondary School Diploma Grade XI (minimum 22 credits)
  8. Prince Edward Island Grade XI (minimum 12 credits)
  9. Saskatchewan Grade XI (minimum 16 credits)

To fairly compare your application we may need to have your academic background evaluated by SRACQ. If so you will be contacted concerning the official transcripts you will need to provide us with along with the extra fee ($65) that this service involves.

Applicants must apply online and provide us with the following according to the message you receive:

  1. A transcript including the final grades from the previous year.
  2. A mid-term report of the courses in progress (if applicable) which indicates the expected date of graduation.
  3. A non-refundable $30.00 application fee. Please make your cheque or money-order payable to Champlain Regional College.
  4. A copy of your birth certificate indicating your place of birth and both of your parents’ names.
  5. If you are applying into the Social Science Program or the Business Administration Program, include course descriptions of Mathematics courses taken in Grades 10 and 11.
  6. If you are applying in Science, include course descriptions of Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics courses taken in Grades 10 and 11.
  7. IMPORTANT: Québec law requires all students who are not deemed residents of Québec to pay additional fees of $1,477.00 per semester. These fees are subject to change without notice.

 

IF YOU ARE A FOREIGN STUDENT

To fairly compare your application we may need to have your academic background evaluated by SRACQ. If so you will be contacted concerning the official transcripts you will need to provide us with along with the extra fee ($65) that this service involves.

Applicants must apply online and mail us the following according to the message you receive:

1. An official transcript of your academic records.

2. A Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (C.A.Q.) or A Certificat dd selection du Québec (C.S.Q.), which must be obtained from the Ministère des communautés culturelles et de l’immigration of the Province of Québec. Compulsory by the beginning of the semester.

3. A Student Visa from the Federal Government of Canada (or other legal immigration document) which is valid for the entire academic year for which you are applying. Compulsory by the beginning of the semester.

Prior to the start of the semester, foreign students must provide proof of enrollment in a comprehensive health and accident insurance plan as well as pay the additional fees of $6,000.00 (per semester) as is required by Québec law. These fees are subject to change without notice.
